Traditional Trás os Montes food in a mouth-watering experience

We will go shopping for our lunch at small local producers alheiras (typical sausage from Trás-os-Montes), fresh cow cheese, bread and wine.

Upon arrival in the small village of Freixiel We will enjoy the fruits of our shopping and start the feijoada.

Feijoada is a dish that is made slowly, from one day to the next, cooking slowly in the iron pot that rests on the embers, with the appetite being awakened by the aromas that are being released … let’s learn the secrets of the various types of beans and why they are so important for food.

Next day, after a good night sleep and a walk across the village, with our appetite awake with the pure mountain air, it’s time to eat the feijoada!

Alexandra Sotto Major has Tras os Montes in her blood and heart. She learned from her grandmother the recipes for these dishes that she loves to cook and share and that’s why she decided to leave the bustle of the city and a corporate job to devote herself full-time to these wanderings. Nothing makes her happier than to welcome her friends around the table, preferably after a walk through the hills!
